How would you define the act or process of Critical Reasoning for your topic?
I would define critical reasoning as deliberate reasoning referring to what to believe or what to do towards a certain issue. Critical Reasoning utilizes such devices as interpretation, analysis, inference, evaluation and explanation. For my topic, gang violence, I will show how analysis and evaluation contribute to the ongoing dangerous effects that gangs present for the general public in Los Angeles. Thinking more critically would serve to help eliminate gang problems on the streets.
You seem to have a very passionate opinion on gang activity and how it should be dealt with; I think this will benefit you greatly as you work out critical reasoning skills for the topic. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI think that part of your paper should focus on "seeing the perspectives of other people." With the topic of gang violence, it is critical to make an effort to understand the viewpoint of urban Blacks and Latinos. In a sense, critical reasoning requires us to be good sociologists and psychologists.
